You may have seen hand held steamers that are cheaper than the monster baby but you won't find one with this sort of "big steam cleaner" performance. There are many hand held portable steamers on the market place - some are very cheap and most of these are unpressurized. Which means the steam is low temperature "wet steam" and the user has no control over steam emission i.e. the steam can't be turned off and on as it is being used. This means steam is wasted by continually steaming away into the air when you are not using the cleaner. The pressurized boiler has a special PTFE anti-scale lining for easy maintenance and it will produce 248Â°F super hot dry steam (only approx. 6% water).
